OUR   TEAM

This is our second year of participating in ThinkQuest.  Last year, four of our team members, Annie, Daniela, Emily, and Stephanie, designed “Elementary Shakespeare”. Drew participated on a team that designed “Elementary Ancient Rome”.  Last year we focused on one topic and each took  responsibility for a small part.  This year we decided to use what we learned about creating a web site last year and start a new and bigger ThinkQuest project.  We brainstormed ideas and decided, since we all loved to read, that we wanted to create a project that would inspire others to want to read. At the same time, we wanted to learn more about some of our favorite authors. We hope if you are looking for a good book to read, our project can help you.

ANNIE (Beverly Cleary and Phyllis Reynolds Naylor) The best part of being on the ThinkQuest team was making new friends and learning about new people. I learned how to do HTML and how to use computers better. I learned that if one team works together, we can make a wonderful web page. The hardest part was making sure everything works and finishing it on time. My favorite subject in school is Art and in my spare time I like to play with friends. This project was a wonderful learning experience for me and I hope it was for all of the other ThinkQuest participants, too.

DANIELA (Roald Dahl and J.K. Rowling) I  learned about teamwork that all of us together are a lot better than any of us alone. The best part for me was learning about my author, something really funny!  The hardest part was putting all my information together and having it be short. I learned that it's better to start out small and once you finish that goal, to do more, instead of doing one huge goal all at once. In school, I like Reading and Math best and in my spare time I like to talk with my friends and play sports.

DREW (Sid Fleischman and Gary Paulsen) My favorite subjects in school are Math and Art and in my spare time I enjoy going on AOL and watching TV. The best part of being on the team this year was working with other people. I learned how to work together on the Internet and think learning how to use HTML will help me in the future.  The hardest part was finishing it by the deadline, but I had a great time!

EMILY (C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien) The best part of this project was finishing it up and looking it over!  I learned that we all needed to be there for each other, as members of the same team. One of the hardest parts was staying on task. Sometimes I would daydream. I love to do creative writing and in my spare time I like baking and going to the movies.

STEPHANIE (Katherine Paterson and Kathryn Lasky) Being on this project taught me that to create a project with more than one person, it takes three things: patience, cooperation, and communication.  The best part of being the team was watching the site form step by step. It's amazing we got all our annotations done!  The hardest part was writing annotations in Hawaii. I wanted to swim in the sun and eat coconuts! Something I learned from being involved in this project is that everybody has a different idea in mind, even if that's not what you had in your mind. I also learned a lot about my two authors. Reading and Writing are the things I like best in school. In my spare time I like to play on the Internet, talk on the phone, and read.
