C.S. LEWIS'S BOOKS

While C.S. Lewis was in college he wrote school magazines.  In 1919, he published his first book, Death in Battle.  He became the best-liked children's writer in Great Britain. "I wrote the books I should have liked to read. That's always been my reason for writing ... not rot about self-expression.” A  quote from C. S. Lewis.

The first children's books he wrote were The Chronicles of Narnia, beginning with:

1951 Prince Caspian
1952 The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
1953 The Silver Chair
1954 The Horse and His Boy
1955 The Magician's Nephew
1955 The Last Battle
