Brain injury is another type of problem.   It can rob a person’s sense of self. At the very least, brain injury can seriously reduce the quality of life.  Brain injury may strike a single person but, in reality, it becomes a family problem because the family must become responsible for the brain injured person.                 

People under 50 are the leading age group for brain injuries.  A hit in the head can cause you to be unconscious or, if it is really serious, you can get permanent brain damage. Severe injuries may cause even more brain damage.  Head injuries during, before, or after birth may cause the disease cerebral palsy.
