     The shortest mature person of whom there is independent evidence is Gul Mohammad. Of Delhi, India. On July 19, 1990, when he was examined at Ram Manohar Hospital, New Delhi, he was 22 and one half inches tall and weighed 37 and one half pounds.

 
Smallest Living Woman
   Madge Bester of Johannesburg, South Africa, is the shortest woman alive, measuring just two feet, one and one half inches tall. She weighs 66 pounds. She suffers from Osteogenesis imperfecta, a hereditary condition that results in brittle bones and other deformities of the skeleton.

 
Shortest Living Twins
  The smallest living twins are John and Greg Rice of West Palm Beach, Florida, are both around 2 feet and 10 inches tall. These two men are highly successful business men and their size did nothing to prevent it. They made their fortunes as real estate speculators in the 1970's, they now run and own a multimillion-dollar motivational speaking company called Think Big (as seen above in the photo), which organizes seminars on creative problem solving. Smallest Tribe
  The smallest tribe is the Mbutsi pygmies of Congo, with an average height of 4 ft. 6 in. for men and 4 ft. 5 in. for women. Pygmy children are not significantly shorter than other children, but they do not grow in adolescence.

 
Smallest Waist
     The smallest waist of a person of normal height is 1 ft. 1 in. for Ethel Granger of Peterborough, England. She reduced from a natural 1 ft. 10 in. between 1929 and 1939. 

 

Shortest Baseball Player
     The shortest major league player was Eddie Gaedel, who measured 3 feet 7 inches and weighed 65 pounds. Gaedel pinch-hit for the St. Louis Browns (AL) vs. the Detroit Tigers (AL) on August 19th, 1951. Wearing the number 1/8, and using a toy bat, the batter with the smallest ever Major League strike zone, walked on four pitches.
