CHINESE

Around 1880 groups of Chinese men came to Texas to work on the railroads.  They settled in Hearne and El Paso, Texas.  In 1917 about five hundred Chinese  who had been living in Mexico came to San Antonio.  They were allowed to immigrate because they had helped the American soldiers in Mexico.
