Dances

Each cultural group that came to the United States would have folk dances that developed in their homeland.   Just as their songs gradually changed as they were passed down so did the dances.   Everyone who performed the dance did so a little differently.  As part of our research we recorded some different dances performed by different organizations in both Bryan, Texas and San Antonio, Texas.

This is an Indonesian Folk Dance.  They are celebrating a fishing expedition.

This is a movie of music and dance from Columbia.

This is the Filipino Folk Dance called Tinikling.

This is an African-American Dance.
