Bake – To cook in an oven.

Sift – Put dry ingredients through a sifter or sieve.

Simmer – Cook in small amount of liquid over low heat.

Sprinkle – Scatter over food.

Stir – To mix with a round-and-round motion.

Toss – Mix ingredients very lightly.

Whip – Beat quickly with an egg-beater, electric-mixer, or wire whip.
