Locomotives run on diesel engines which are engines that run on a special kind of fuel called diesel. The engineer stays in a special kind of car inside the locomotive called a cab. From the cab, he can see where the train is going at all times. The coaches are the cars where all of the passengers sit. With electricity coming from the locomotive, there are lights and air conditioning in the coaches. In trains there are dining cars, sleeping cars, and cargo cars. |
