Facts  1. The Flyer, built by the Wright Brothers, was developed in 1903.  It has a 12-horsepower gasoline engine.  2. In 1903, the first engine-driven, heavier-than-air machine was successfully driven by Orville Wright.  He was the first person to ever pilot a airplane.   3. Alberto Santos- Dumont was a Brazilian living in France.  He built a full-sized aircraft named a mono-plane with 1 wing and a propeller in the front of the wing.   4.  The fastest speed of a supersonic jet is 1,500 mph. It is faster then the speed of light.
