Boats of the Ocean
Here are some bullets shot right out of my mind and
onto your screen.
Diesel engines, turbo-electric gas turbines, gas turbines, nuclear engines,
and oars power most types of boats today.
In 1912, the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank to the bottom of the
Atlantic Sea.
The Titanic’s shipwreck included 1,513 deaths.
A canoe isn’t really a self-righting boat, but the riders of these
boats can easily flip back up if their canoe capsizes.
A stern is the rear end of a boat or ship.
Buoys are cone-like balls that keep little boats from going too far
out into a body of water.
Buoys also are used for racing in and out of.
Ferries are used mostly to take passengers over large amounts of
water.
Barges are used to transport more heavy containers to the places
they need to go.
In the future, more wind power will be used and plastic might replace
metal in about 50 years.
