American Sign Language (ASL) was started by Tomas Gallaudet. He was the first deaf sign language teacher in the United States. ASL is the mostly used by people in North America. Other countries have their own sign languages, like Australia uses Auslan. Here is a the ASL Sign Language Alphabet.
