The copy editor is the next step in publishing
a book. The copy editor is responsible for making sure that the characters, fonts,
pictures, borders, and story line are the same throughout the whole book. They
make sure that everything looks the same in the whole book. They make sure the
same size of font is used, that the borders are the same on every page, and that
the illustrations make sense from page to page. They also make sure the authors
words are the same. A copy editor would check to see if the author has written
the book in the present or past tense!
