Step 2:
The next thing you need to do is the covers of the book. Decide where you want the hinges to be, and how big each flap will be. On the treasure chest, the top part is about 2" by 6", and the bottom is about 4" by 6". Decorate the covers so they'll look like what you're trying to make!
This is the top of the treasure chest. To make the hinge, cut a straight, 1/2 inch strip along the top edge. Then, tape the strip back on, leaving a tiny gap between. Put the tape on the back of the cover so it won't show. Where the two pieces of paper go together is where the hinge of the book is! The top of the treasure box flips up.
