Reading
is Fundamental (RIF) is a nationwide children’s program that helps children
and their families read. RIF creates literacy programs and provides books to
families at no cost. People from the community , such as teachers and parents,
volunteer their time to support the RIF program. RIF was founded in 1966 and has
distributed more than two million books to families in the United States! About
two-thirds of the children who use the RIF program are at risk of failing in
school.
