Plot: Rose's grandmother died and so Rose has to live with her Aunt Nan and Uncle Bob. She finds a root cellar. In a different time, her friend Will runs off to the war, so she and Susan go to New York to find him. They took a train to New York, but they walked most of the way to Washington. They found him in the Arlington cemetery, kneeling over his friend who died.
