Summary: Thirteen Dwarves came to Bilbo's house uninvited and invited him on a journey that he half wanted to go to.Their mission was to go to the Lonely Mountain and take the gold back. They went through many dangers like Trolls, Goblins and Wolves. When they got to Mirkwood (an evil forest where only the elves are good) Gandalf left them. They got through at the end, but one of them had fallen in the River of Forgetfulness. At the end of the story they were at the Mountain and they got the Dragon mad. He went and attacked the men's village. The men had helped the dwarves, so the men weren't happy. The dragon killed the men's city, but they survived. The dwarves were stuck in the dragon's lair. The men get mad and demand a profit. The elves help the men. A war is about to break out with the 13 dwarves and Thror's cousin against the elves and men. While that is happening Goblins and wolves sneak up and attack men, elves and dwarves. They all team up to attack the Goblins and Wolves. The battle is called the Battle of Five Armies. The good guys win.
Did I like the book:
Yes, it was very long and the author had a good imagination. I could have never thought of those characters.
