Plot:
Harry lived with his aunt, uncle and cousin in London until his 11th birthday. On his birthday he finds out he is a wizard and that he gets to go to a wizard school called Hogwarts. The groundskeeper, Hagrid, helps him get all of the supplies he needs, like magic wands and robes, in special stores in Diagon Alley.
He goes on a special train, that is just for students at Hogwarts, and he meets two friends, Ron and Hermoine. When he gets to Hogwarts, he finds out he'll be in Gryffindor House, with his two new friends. There are four houses at Hogwarts: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw.
Harry finds out he is very good at a game called Quidditch - a kind of soccer, baseball, and football game all together. He is the Seeker, who has to grab the special flying target called the Snitch. All of the players ride on flying brooms.
Harry finds out that there is a really bad wizard who wants to kill him. His name is Voldemort, or "You-Know-Who". Voldemort is the one who killed Harry's parents when he was just a baby. He tried to kill Harry then too, but only left a lightining bolt scar on Harry's forehead.
Harry, Ron and Hermoine find out about a special sorcerer's stone, that Voldemort wants. They have lots of adventures keeping him from getting it.
Did I Enjoy This Book? Yes! I enjoyed this book and all of the Harry Potter books because they have a great deal of imaginative writing and I liked the game of Quidditch.
