Summary:

Anne, an orphan, is chosen by Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert to live with them. The Cuthberts wanted a boy to help out on the farm, since Matthew is getting old. They are in for a big surprise! As Matthew picks up Anne from the station, he is astonished. Matthew a soft-hearted and not very talkative man, takes Anne home and it is Marrilla's turn to be surprised. Marrilla and Matthew decide to ask the orphanage to take her back. Anne, who can't believe she is here, finds out that she is going to be sent back, and is devastated! Although she is sad, she puts on a good face and enjoys whatever time she has here. Marrilla takes her back, but then finds out Anne will be taken to a harsh woman if Marrilla gives her back. Then she reconsiders and Anne is happy to have a beautiful home. As Anne gets into many scrapes and troubles, she also is widely known for what she is good at, too!

Did I Enjoy This Book? Yes.  I liked this book because Anne has a lot of spunk and bravery.
