What was the story about?
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is about four children who are sent to an old professor because of the war that is going on near their home. The children decide to explore the house to see if they can find any adventure in the house, since it is raining outside. They come to a room where nothing but a wardrobe stands alone in the corner. As they walk out, Lucy stays behind to see what is in the wardrobe. At first she feels coats and thinks she will soon be at the back of the wardrobe, but the soft coat starts to feel like trees and the hard wood floor begins to feel like soft snow. A centaur comes up to her and says, " You are in Narnia. Are you the daughter of Eve?" They soon become friends and Lucy falls asleep. When she awakens, she thinks she has been away for hours and has to get home. Lucy comes out of the wardrobe and tells Peter, Susan, and Edmund about the centaur she has met and all about Narnia. None of them believe her and they think she is just telling a story. The next day they play hide-and-seek, and Lucy hides in the wardrobe. Edmund follows her and sees exactly what she had seen the day before. Edmund and Lucy come out of the Wardrobe together and say that they were just playing pretend when they both find Peter and Susan. This makes Lucy cry. Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy all have to hide from the housekeeper and they all pile into the wardrobe. They soon find out more about Narnia and help save it from the evil White Witch.
