What was the book about?
This book was about a girl named Margaret who moves from New York to New Jersey. On her first day in her new house, a girl named Nancy comes over to see if Margaret can come out to play. They soon become very good friends. On the first day of school, Nancy tells Margaret to come over to her house after school if she wants to join her new club. The other members of the club are Janie and Gretchen. The sixth grade is having a square dance and Margaret, Nancy, Janie, and Gretchen all want Philip Leroy as their partner. Later on in the book, the sixth grade goes to a party where they all play “Spin the Bottle”. When it is Margaret’s turn, the bottle points at Philip Leroy and all of the girls say, “Lucky!”
