Aguascalientes - A city in Mexico: I live in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
Aqueduct - Irrigation ditch or canal: The missions of San Antonio all have an aqueduct.
Christian - A person who believes in Jesus Christ and his teachings: Many people in the world are christians.
Coahuiltecans - The Native American tribe that populated the missions. The Coahuiltecan indians lived and worked in the missions.
Espada - In English it means "Sword": Davy Crockett's enemies pulled out their Espadas.
Franciscan - A follower of St. Francis of Assisi: The Franciscan priests helped found the missions.
Friary - A home for the priests: All missions had a friary.
Garrision - A place to store weapons: After being a mission, the Alamo became a garrison.
Immaculate - Without dirt or sin: After cleaning the table, it looked immaculate.
Marques - In English it means a king : The marques of Spain was Ferdinand.
Mass - A religious service held in a church.: Many people go to mass on Sunday.
Mission - A community where people lived, worshipped, worked and played: The Native Americans lived in the mission.
Missionary - One sent to spread religious faith.: A missionary was sent to another mission.
Mission Nuestra Señora de la Purisima Concepción - Our lady in purest conception: People love to go to Mission Concepcion.
Monk - A man who is a member of a monastic order: We saw a monk at Mission Espada.
Padre - Spanish for priest: The padre leads the mass in catholic churches.
Presidio - A military post: Soldiers stood guard in a presidio.
Plaster - Composition applied to walls to give it a hard covering: My walls have plaster on them.
Pueblo - Village; settlement; people: There are still pueblos in Mexico.
Rancho de las Cabras - Ranch of the Goats: When we went to Rancho de las Cabras we saw all kinds of goats.
Rosary - a string of beads used in counting prayers especially of the Roman Catholic faith: When the Roman Catholics went to the church they wore a rosary.
Saint John Capistran - A Franciscan who lead the Christians into battle in the 1400's: The mission San Juan Capistrano was named after Saint John Capistran.
San Antonio de Valero - In English it means "Alamo.": San Antonio de Valero was the first mission in San Antonio.
San Jose y San Miguel de Aguayo. - Saint Joseph and Saint Miguel D. Aguayo : San Jose is the most popular mission in San Antonio.
San Juan Capistrano - In English it means "Saint John Capistran": Saint John Capistran was a Franciscan.
Services - A meeting at church that people attend to praise and worship gods: I go to all the services that the church has.
Viceroy - A Spanish Govenor : The viceroy came over to check on the missions.
