A tsunami (soo-nah-mee) is a lot of waves that have
been affected by a geographic commotion and are shot upwards. Tsunami is a
Japanese word that means, “harbor wave”. When an earthquake underwater causes a
tsunami, it can be called a seismic sea wave.
Did you know that if a tsunami
passes under a boat that’s far out in the ocean it wouldn’t be noticeable? Or,
that 80 per-cent of all tsunamis happen in the Pacific Ocean and Japan?
