Adolf Hitler began his political career as an army political agent in the German Workers’ (later it became National Socialist, or Nazi) Party in 1919 and became in charge of it’s propaganda arm in 1920.Hitler was soon made president of the political party and began his creation of a huge movement and his rise to power.

After a failed overthrow of 1923, he served 9 months in prison and began the writing of Mein Kampf , in which he was against democratic government and showed his hatred against and fear of Jews. Through the 1920’s Hitler gaining political strength. He lost the presidential election against Paul von Hindenburg in 1932 but was chosen to be t be chancellor in 1933. After Hindenburg’s passing on , Hitler combined the offices of chancellor and president and in 1934 and adopted the title of Fuhrer ("leader").
 
 

After have starting a total control police state in Germany, Hitler turned his attention to foreign policy and his forceful expansionist policies started World War II (1939-1945). At its height Hitler’s Germany briefly occupied most of Europe. He ordered to exterminate of whole peoples ,and the Jews suffered the most. After Germany’s enemies turned the tie of the war late in 1942,Hitler’s remaining energy was spent on protecting the Nazi Empire from Russian advances in the east ,and an Anglo-American invasion in the west . By the January of 1945 he had retreated to the chancellery in Berlin , and instead of getting captured he committed suicide .
