Eisenhower
Eisenhower started his military career in the United States Military Acadamy in West Point , New York in 1911and finished in 1915. In 1926 he graduated first in a class of 275in the Army’s Command and General Staff School, and in 1928he finished the Army War College. Stationed at our nation’s capital city , he worked in the office of the chief of staff, General Douglas MacArthur. From 1933 through 1935, when he accompanied the chief of staff to the Philipines .
At the beginning of world war two, Eisenhower came back to the U.S. , and after the Pearl Harbor attack he became chief of staff of the war plans division of the Army General Staff In the June of 1942 he was named commanding general in the European theatre. In the December of 1943 , he was promoted to Supreme Commander of allied expeditionary forces for the invasion of western Europe. On the day of June 6,1944 directed the landings on Normandy beaches of France .In the December of that year he was the five star general. In the may of 1945 he recievedGermany’s surrender.
