| The first
pharaoh that we know of was the great Pharaoh Menes; or Narmer or Aha.
He unified Upper and Lower Egypt.
He was also the founder of Memphis, Capital of Egypt. Another famous pharaoh was Tutankhamen. He ruled in the 18th dynasty. He married at the eight and died only eleven years after that. Another famous egyptian pharaoh was Khufu. He ordered the building of the Great Pyramid at Giza. The writer Horodus visited Egypt during his reign and he told the Greeks that Knufu was cruel and heartless. Ramas The Great is also very famous. He was a ruler in the 19th dynasty. He was known through out all egypt for being just and peaceful. Djoser was the second ruler of the 3rd dynasty. The Step Pyramid in Saqqara was made for him. Hatshepsut was the only female ever to rule. Her husband was pharaoh but after he died she ruled for many years until her son over threw her. She was known as the daughter of Amon. Khafre, was one of the sons of Khufu. The Sphinx is said to look like him. Some say the Sphinx is his tomb, but others aren't so sure. Pepi II was the third ruler in the 18th dynasty. He was a great military leader and won many great battles for Egypt. Amonhotep II was the seventh ruler in the 18th dynasty. it was during his rule that the Hyskos first attacked the Egyptians and enslaved them. it was from the Hyskos that the Egyptains learned archery and how to ride horses. |
