Osirus was the god of the dead and the ruler of the underworld. His wife/ sister was Isis ( weird huh?) and he was murdered by his brother, Set whose wife is their sister, Nepthys. He was also the father of Horus. As well as being the god of the dead, he was also the god of resurrection and fertility. Actually, the Ancient Egyptians believed that Osirus gave them barley, one of the most important crops.
