MUMMIES

Mummification is an ancient way of burying people. Mummification was practiced throughout most of Ancient Egypt. The first mummies were probably  accidents. The dry sand and air may have possibly helped preserve the bodies that had been buried there. At about the fourth or fifth dynasty, the egyptians started mummifying the bodies internally. It practiced and developed for many years through the roman times (30 B.C. - A.D. 364)
