Food and Cooking

The favorite foods of Egyptians were bread, cake, roasted beef, mutton, goose, and wild fowl. To prepare this food, Egyptians placed it on pottery bowls an sent directly into the fire. Egyptians drank beer, wine, and milk. The only sweets of ancient Egypt were dates and honey. All food was placed in large pottery jars and usually grown on the property of the consumers.

Note: You can find Egyptian recipes in books at your local library.
