Have you ever been made fun of because of your religion?  Have you ever made fun
of someone because of THIER religion?  Well, either way, it doesn't feel good.
Here are a few well-known religions.  We hope that reading these passages will help
you understand better about what other people believe.  Maybe that will stop the

     World  Religions
Christianity- Jesus Christ is the founder of Christianity, Chritians believe that Jesus is the son of God., and that there is only one God. Jesus, the man believed to be the son of God came to Earth, was crucified dead and buried, three  days later he rose from the dead and was ressurected. Christianity is the worlds biggest religion.

Judaism - The founder of Judaism is Abraham, he lived in 13,000 B.C. Jews also believe that there is one God who rules over the Universe and who controls it. That they should be faithful to God and fulfill his commandments. In 1998 there were around 14,000,000around the world.

Islam - The prophet Muhammad in 610 B.C. is said to have started it.They believe that there is no other God than God. Muhammad is also a law giver of his community. Muslims have to pray 5 times a day and fast during the month of  Ramadan, give to the poor, and once during there life make Pilgrimige to Mecca in Saudi Arabia if they can afford it.In 1998 there were close to 1 billion muslims.
 

Hinduism - Not just one person started Hinduism. Hindu's  believe that there are many god's and many ways of worshiping. They also believe that when a person dies they will come back in the form of another living thing. The goal of life is to escape the cycle of birth and death and become a part of the Brahman, they do this by having a pure and good life.In 1998 there were nearly 800,000,000 Hindu's mainly in India.

Buddhism - The man who started Buddhism's name is Guatama Siddharta, he started it around 525 B.C. Buddha taught the people that life is full of suffering, in order to be free of this suffering believers have to give up worldly possesions and worldly goals to try and achieve a state  of peace (known as nervana). In 1998 there were more than 350,000,000 Buddhists, mostly in Asia.
