In the United States, there are an estimated 175,000 moose in Alaska, 30,000 in Maine, 15,000 in Wyoming, and 10,000 in Minnesota. In Canada, there are approximately 500,000 to 1,000,000 Moose.  Moose are also found in other Arctic regions of the Northern hemisphere, and are called elk in Europe. Some moose are dying off because of habitat destruction.
