Gunabara
Once upon
a time there lived a greedy vulture named Gunabara who wanted to own all
the land near the ocean.One day
decided to land on a mountain near a harbor, and drive all the animals
out so it could be his.This vulture
was no ordinary vulture, it was a kind a vulture with a saw blade beak.The
vulture swooped down on the mountain. With his saw like beak he sawed down
a tree, and another, and another until there was only one tree left in
the small area for him to live in. With no place to live, the llamas and
other animals depended on their shelter but had to leave the area.
The
vulture, going through a stage of happiness for getting rid of the animals,
realized there were moles crawling into the holes of the torn out trees.
Gunabara swooped down and began tilling the dirt with his claws until the
moles tunnels collapsed and there was no place for the moles to go but
away.The animals that were kicked
out of their homes lived around the rim of the land that Gunabara had taken
away.They all did not like Gunabara
but they did not want to hurt him either.Day
after day they watched Gunabara clear more trees.In
time he cleared all the way to the ocean.One
night while all the animals where sleeping a huge comet came from the sky
and hit the land that Gunabara was living in. The comet hit the earth so
hard it left a bowl shape in the ground, which the ocean began to flow
into.The earth was pushed aside
creating beautiful mountains around the bowl shaped indent some places.The
water kept flowing into the bowl it became a bay.When
the animals went to see what happened the animals saw a beautiful site.
Mountains running down right into the bay and all sorts of colors around
the bay.The animals then realized
that if Gunabara hadn’t scared them out then the comet would of smashed
them too. The animals named the beautiful bay “Gunabara Bay” after Gunabara.
