Alaska Wildlife
The Polar bear is native to arctic regions.  They grow 8-10 feet in length.  Males can weigh 600-1,400 pounds.  Females can weigh 400-700 pounds.  They are white in color. There is an estimated amount of 4,000-6,000 Polar Bears in Alaska.
Black Bears can be found in many different environments. The average length of a Black Bear is 5 feet.  Males weigh 150-400 pounds, But females weigh 125-250 pounds.  These bears are brown to black in color, they can also have a white patch of fur on their chest. There is an estimated 50,000+ Black Bears in Alaska.
Brown Bears can also be found in Alaska.  They range from 7-9 feet long. The males can weigh 400-1,100 pounds. The females can weigh 200-600 pounds.  They are dark brown to blonde in color.  There is an estimated 35,000-45,000 Brown Bears in Alaska.
Moose is another animal that can be found in Alaska.  They can stand up to 7 and a half feet tall and weigh up to 1,800 pounds.  On the upper part of the moose it's fur is brownish black and on the lower parts of it's body the fur is brownish gray.  It also has antlers that can be 5-6 feet long. 
You can also find wolves.  They can weigh 75-120 pounds.  Wolves can be 5-6 in a half feet long and about 2 and a half feet tall. The females are smaller than the males.  They are black to white in color.
You can also find a Lynx in Alaska.  They are smaller than most wild cats only weighing 15-25 pounds, but some can weigh up to 45 pounds.  Their fur is light gray or grayish brown in color.
A person could Laos see a Beaver in Alaska. They can be 3-4 feet long and weigh 40-95 pounds.  They have a tail that looks like a paddle. It's fur is a yellow brown color.
Caribou is another common animal in Alaska. The males can weigh 250-700 pounds. They also can stand 4-5 feet tall. The females are smaller than the males.
Marmots are animals that you can also find in Alaska. They are 1-2 feet long.  They are also called groundhogs.  They have gray hair on their backs, and yellowish fur on their bellies and legs.
Alaska also has Ground Squirrels. They can grow 7-27 inches (including the tail). Their fur can be many different colors like: black, brown, gray, red, and white.
Mountain Goats can also be found in Alaska. They can grow to be 3-4 feet tall. They are white in color. These animals can have horns that can be up to 1 foot long.
You could see Dall Sheep in Alaska.  This animal has horns that are 4-2 inches. They can be 3 in a half feet tall at the shoulder. They can also weigh around 300 pounds.
One more animal in Alaska is the Wolverine.  They can be 3 and a half feet long nd can weigh about 55 pounds.  It is very powerful for it's size.
