The Chicago
Bears
The Chicago Bears are a team in the
National Football League which is a league for
professional football players. In that league there are
two conferences. The Bears play in the NFC, which stands
for National Football Conference.
The Bears were the first team to
practice daily, have their own team band, team song, and
have games broadcasted over the radio. The Bears started
playing at Wrigley Field, then later moved to Soldier
Field. The Bears' best season was 1985-86, when they won
the Super Bowl against the New England
Patriots.
One of the Bears' most famous players
of all time is Walter Payton, the best runningback of all
time, who made a career total of 16,000 yards. Walter
Payton died from cancer in 1999. He is now a member of
the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the most honorable place
for a pro football player to be elected.
