You Have to Follow the Rules

When playing soccer you have to follow the rules.  The amount of players that are on the field depend upon the age group.  The maximum is eleven players, which is usually played by age groups of 12 and up.

Only the goalie is allowed to use hands on the field.  The other players are allowed to use their feet, head, torso, and knees to move the ball around.  If a player touches the ball with his or her hands, there are penalties.  The referee will call a hand-ball and the other team will get the ball.

When the ball goes out of bounds, the team that didn't kick it out, throws the ball in.  When throwing the ball in you have to bring the ball behind your head, while holding the ball with two hands. You have to keep your feet on the ground, or the referee will give the ball to the other team.

If players get tired, coaches are allowed to call "subs".  The coach has to wait until the ball goes out of bounds, and is being thrown in by his/her team.

In soccer there is something called off-sides.  Off-sides is  when one team's offense is farther up the field without the    ball, than the other team's defense. You can't be called off-sides unless you're past the center line and in the other team's side.

The way a team wins is if they score the most amount of goals.  The way you score goals is by kicking the ball into the opposing team's net.
