| The Four Iroquois Brothers
Four Iroquois brothers went on a hunting trip when they came back to the trading post they bought everything they needed and even had enough money to buy one brand new gun. But the problem was that they weren't from the same tribe. So to solve the dilemma they said we each tell a tale about hunting and who tells the tallest tale gets the gun.
The first brother said, "A long time ago a hunter was chasing a big strong deer but it ran over the hill to the other tribe's land. So he found a branch of an oak tree and bent his gun barrel and shot the shot went over the hill and killed the deer."
Then second brother said, " My grandfather once lost his bow and arrows plus his gun. He found a nice big deer and tried to catch with his bare hands. The deer ran around in circles and he finally got hold of it. He was about to skin it with a rock when it got up but its antlers were stuck on a tree branch but it tug so violently it ran but its skin got pulled off with the antlers.
After that the third brother said, " There was once a great hunter who shot a bear which staggered and fell. When he picked up the bear he found that the bear had fallen on a wolf. He was bringing back the wolf when he found rabbit in the wolf's mouth. At the village he was praised at the amount of meat he had brought back with one shot."
Last but not least it was the fourth brother's turn. "Sorry brothers, but we Iroquois people don't tell tall tales."
Each brother looked at each other and handed the gun to the fourth brother.
