Sign Painter |
|
Hello, my name is Shawn. I’m a sign painter. Most of the time I only use a brush and some paints. For important jobs I use a ladder and an apron that holds my paintbrushes and other small materials. Usually, when a customer comes in, I ask them what kind of a sign they want. Then I have to ask them when they want the sign to be hung up. Lastly I ask them the location of their store or business.
When I’m working, people compliment me on my work. When they don’t like my signs, that disappoints me and makes me feel horrible. I also hat it when I have nothing to do except just painting barns or fences. When people compliment me on how I sketch the sign or how I make the signs it makes me feel good inside.
In order to use any of my materials I have to have the potter make me some clay pots. I need them to store paints and for water to rinse the brushes. I also depend on the farmer because I need bristles on my paintbrushes so I can paint signs. Some people, like the potter and the blacksmith, need signs for their shops and businesses.

hangs outside of my shop. To the right are some of the chisels that I use to carve the signs.
