Cabinet Maker |
|
My name is Peter and I am a cabinetmaker. Some of the tools I use are called the lathe, chisel, sander, saw, hammers, clamps, braces and bits. I have to turn a wheel to make the legs of couches, stools, chairs, tables and cabinets. I like getting to use the saw.
Being a cabinetmaker is fun, but it takes a lot of hard work. Designing furniture is fun. Dusting stinks because you get dust in your eyes and it feels weird. I like to carve the wood and make the furniture. It is not exciting to turn the wheel. It takes a lot of energy and makes you tired.
The spinner depends on me for making her spinning wheel. The cooper, broom maker, potter and sail maker also depend on me for making the stools they sit on. I make the wooden cards the wool carder uses. I depend on the farmer for the wood I use. The broom maker supplies me with a broom to sweep up the sawdust in the shop. The blacksmith makes the tools and nails I use for making the furniture.
