Monuments Harry S Truman was a very important man. Therefore he has many monuments. Harry S Truman has a Library in Independence, Missouri. His house where he was born is in Lamar, Missouri. From1887-1890 he lived with his grandfather in the “Truman Farm House” in Grandview, MO. He came back to the house in 1906. He helped raise crops through 1917 when he had to go fight in World War I. In 1886 John and Martha Truman bought Truman’s “Boyhood Home” where Harry spent his childhood years. They moved out of the house in 1902. The “Truman House” was owned by Truman’s grandmother in-law. When she died in 1952, it became their property. He lived there from 1919-1952. Harry also had a home in Key West, Florida. The house was nicknamed the “Little White House.” It was Truman’s place to “hang around” and relax. His first trip to the house was in 1946.
