Jobs

Harry S Truman had many jobs over his lifetime.  Some of the jobs were: a railroad timekeeper (in the summer 1902), a mail sorter for the Kansas City Star newspaper, and a farmer (in 1906).  The only job he kept from his early adulthood was his farming job.  In 1917 he was still a farmer, but also in the National Guard.  He went to France as an Artillery Captain in 1918.  That was his first real job, as far as a decent one.  In 1922 he decided to start to work in politics.  Truman became a Jackson County Judge.  He was elected to the Jackson County Court in 1926.  He was in charge of the government’s money for construction projects.
