History

The Steamboat Arabia was a steamboat that crashed in 1895 when it hit a snag.  It was carrying 20,000 pounds of whiskey.  One hundred thirty people were onboard.  It also carried tools and Goodyear rubber shoes.  There was even merchandise for frontier stores.  Earlier it had hit a rock, lost its rudder, and survived.  The Arabia had traveled before.  It was headed first to Weston and St. Joseph, Missouri, then to Council Bluffs and Sioux City, Iowa.  The next stop was Logan, Nebraska (which does not exist anymore because the Arabia never arrived there - The town was depending on the supplies that The Arabia carried that were lost when it crashed.).  After Nebraska, it was to stop in Idaho.
