Factoids

The oldest artifact found on the Arabia was a pair of rubber shoes manufactured by Goodyear.  The most expensive artifact found was a large band of silk.  The Arabia was carrying 200 tons of food for the frontier general stores.  There were a whole bunch of collectors’ buttons from quite a few foreign countries in Europe and Asia.  On the side of the mule skeleton’s saddle, a tin cup was found bearing the owner’s initials engraved on the underside of the cup.  The artifacts on the Steamboat Arabia had laid untouched underground for 132 long, silent years.  It seems sad that the Steamboat Arabia (also known as the Great White Arabia) was buried, untouched by mankind for 132 years.  So long that the owners of the artifacts never received their personal belongings, because they had all died by the time their belongings were uncovered by the Hawleys.
