This website was created by a sixth grade social studies class to inform you about the economy, culture, wildlife, land, and many other facts about Australia. We have links to lots of fun games and great sites about Australia for kids. This site can be used for researching school reports, teaching material, or just for fun. The discovery of Australia began when European explorers searched for a land under the continent of Asia. Before the continent was discovered, it was known as "Terra Australis Incognita," or in English, the "Unknown Southern Land." The official name of Australia is not commonly used, but the full name is the Commonwealth of Australia.
