If the messenger made it ti Macedonia in two days, the King could be forewarned so he could live. Hermes asked a beautiful wit long blonde hair to deliver the message as soon as possible. The boy walked to Macedonia, but did not make it in time to save the King's life. It took him three days to get there and the King was already dead. Hermes thought that if the boy had had four legs, he might have made it in half the time and saved the King. "If it's four legs he needs, then it's four legs he should have, " said Hermes. Then he waved caduceus and the boy became a four legged creature that is now called the horse, with a beautiful blonde main and tail.
