Chris Theodorakis

Chris Theodorakis is an invalid. He is in a wheelchair. His brother Theo is in high school. Theo and Chris are very close together.

Chris and Theo are heirs but their parents are not. Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodorakis, own the coffee shop in the lobby of the Sunset Towers.

Chris likes bird watching. He has been watching birds for a very long time. Chris also watches people.

Chris likes bird watching from his window. He also watches people closely and pays attention to details. Chris's partner in the Westing game is Dr. Denton. Chris shares his sightings of someone living outside of the Westing house and other details with Dr. Denton and also with Sydelle Pulaski, who put all the clues together. He hopes to one day become an ornithologist (a scientist who studies birds.)

Bird Watching

Here is some information about bird watching. Equipment you need for bird watching are simple items. They are: binoculars, a spotting scope (a type of telescope), field guides, notebooks, pencils, maps, a camera, and food and drink.

While you are bird watching, you need to take notes. Things you need on your notes are: where, when and what the weather was like when you saw the birds. Also, you need to draw the bird. You should mark on the map where you saw the bird. Some things you should also put down are the type of bird, age, color of the wings and if it was by itself or with some other birds.

Here are three hints about bird watching. First, a good bird watcher needs to have patience. Next, always tell someone where you are going and how long you will be gone. Lastly, never go to dangerous places like on top of a cliff.

If you are interested in bird watching, here are two great organizations to check out. The National Audubon Society and the American Birding Association can give you a lot of information and help.
