Early History of Fashion
Women would wear handkerchiefs on their neck. Women wore hoop skirts until 1780. Shoes were fairly pointed and had high-waisted heels. In about 1786, lower cut Chinese slipper shoes were worn. A young child would wear cotton or linen smocks over their pantalets. When they were a little older, they would dress like their parents. Fashion wasn't fun for kids back then!
