| Power lifting is one of several sports that is currently
being offered by Special Olympics
Programs around the world. Special Olympics power lifting includes three basic lifts: the squat, the bench press, and the dead lift. Training for this sport improves an athlete's overall physical fitness while giving him or her the experience of being on a team. There are 4,940 athletes from 63 Programs from around the world who are discovering their abilities in power lifting. WORLD GAMES HISTORY
