German born american physicist Albert Einstein set a letter to president Roesevelt and told Rosevelt of the cosequenes of the discovery of fission of uranium and how dangerous it could be.

In 1942 the united states astablished a top secret nuclear project called the Manhatton Project. The leader of the Manhatton Project was U.S. Army Brigadier General Leslie R. Groves. The project was based in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Robert Oppenheimer designed and built the first ever atomic bomb. The first conducted test was on July 16, 1945. The explosion from the blast was a match for 20,000 tons of TNT. The first bomb was dropped on Heroshemia on august 10, 1945. The second was dropped on Nagasakia on august the 9. The lttlier bomb was dropped on Heroshima but it killed more people. The second bomb that was dropped hit Nagosaki Japan was the bigger bomb. The name of this bomb was fat boy. Now there are serveral countries with nuclear capability. Nuclear weapons was never used again in war.
