THUNDERSTORMS
WHAT IS A THUNDERSTORM?
A thunder storm is a super cell rain storm with a lot of power. A thunder storm is unlike a regular rain storm in many ways and is like a regular rain storm in may ways also. It can be, and is most likely accompanied by hail, rain, lightning, powerful to mild winds, and thunder. If a thunder storm is powerful enough it can produce a tornado.
The base cloud, or the origin of the storm, of a thunderstorm may pile up to three miles deep. These clouds would most likely be dark gray, coal black, or even midnight black. These dangerous clouds would most likely produce tornadoes.
Thunder storms can also occur in the dead of winter. These are usually called thunder-snow storms. Lightning usually doesn't come with thunder-snow storms, but it has been known to happen.
WHERE DO THUNDERSTORMS OCCUR?
Thunderstorms mostly occur practically every where in the world. They don't occur in the desert though, because it usually doesn't rain in the desert. Everybody in the world knows that. Thunder storms usually don't occur in really cold places like Alaska or Antarctica.
