Make your own Japanese Garden

You will need the following materials:

  1. metal tray with raised edges

  2. piece of cardboard

  3. comb with big teeth

  4. small twigs, ferns, and leaves

  5. clay

  6. drinking straws

  7. sand

  8. stones and rocks

  9. small mirror

  10. paints and brushes

  11. paper towels

  12. glue

Cut your cardboard to fit in your pan.

You might need to add glue or clay on the bottom of the cardboard to keep it in place.

Place a mirror where you would like your lake to go.

Cut a piece of paper to form the edges of your lake.  Glue it around the mirror.

Cover the cardboard in glue.

Sprinkle sand over the glue.

Take a comb and run it through the sand to make designs.

Place rocks around your garden.

Place leaves and/or plants around your garden.

You might need to anchor your plants down with clay.

You also might want to add sticks to your garden.

You can also add bamboo to your garden.  First take a straw and roll a piece of paper around it.  Glue the paper on.

Next, paint the straw brownish yellow and place it in your garden.

You can also add origami creatures such as a frog.

Now you have a complete Japanese garden.
