Back to Coastal plains home page In the Southeastern Part of the Coastal Plains You can find: deer, bobcat, skunks, opossums, raccoons, quail, turkey, and many songbirds, particularly warblers.

Endangered species found in this habitat include: the Red-cockaded Woodpecker, the Flatwoods Salamander, and Eastern Indigo Snake.

In other Southern parts of the Coastal Plains Region you can find alligators, snakes, fish, 5 different types of turtles, many types of mammals, and over 150 types of birds.

The Ruby-throated humming bird is the only hummingbird that actuallys nests in Georgia.

The coastal waters off Georgia house North Atlantic Right Whales. These whales can only be found in coastal waters off Georgia and Florida.
